Timothy Ferguson is Musical Director of Dorking Choral Society, Amabile vokalensemble, and Chorus Felix. He has also recently worked with Det norske solistkor, Oslo Cathedral choir and Chamber Choir of Scandinavia. 

Now living in Oslo, Tim recently completed his Masters degree in Choral Conducting under the tuition of Grete Pedersen at the Norwegian Academy of Music. 

Born in Manchester, one of Tim's first musical experiences was singing in choirs in and around the North-West. Whilst studying at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, Tim was taught conducting by Ewa Strusinska and voice by Richard Strivens. 

During his time as a Music student at the University of York, Tim conducted a wide-ranging group of ensembles and projects; these included: The 24, X24, The University Choir, The Chimera Ensemble, The University Chamber Orchestra, The University Concert Orchestra, The University Opera Society, and his own ensemble Albarosa. 

In his last year of sudies in York, Tim also was a Choral Conducting Scholar with The Huddersfield Choral Society; working on projects including Shostakovich;'s Symphony No.13 (Petrenko), Handel's Israel in Egypt (Glover), Handel's Messiah (Brabbins).

For his final exam in his Masters studies, Tim conducted two projects with the professional choirs Det norkse solistkor (Messiaen Cinq Rechants and Martin Songs of Ariel) and Chamber Choir of Scandinavia (Britten Flower Songs and Finzi Partsongs).

Alongside his conducting commitments Tim is an experienced singer, and has sung with groups including The Choir of York Minster, The 24, The Yorkshire Bach Choir, The World Youth Choir, Det norske solistkor, and Chamber Choir Scandinavia.
